Airgain Introduces AI-Powered RF Intelligence for Embedded Antenna Engineering

Airgain has introduced Airgain RF Intelligence, a new AI-powered antenna engineering platform in development designed to make its RF expertise and embedded antenna portfolio more accessible to wireless device manufacturers and developers.

The platform aims to simplify antenna selection and integration for compact IoT devices and other wireless products with relatively straightforward antenna requirements.

Key takeaways

Simplifying Embedded Antenna Selection

Choosing the right embedded antenna involves more than matching frequency bands. Developers must consider radio specifications, device dimensions, integration requirements, and testing needs.

Airgain RF Intelligence is being developed to simplify this process. Using engineering rules and technical data, the platform is designed to identify suitable antennas from Airgain’s existing portfolio and provide AI-assisted guidance on integration considerations, potential risks, and testing requirements.

Making Engineering Expertise More Accessible

Airgain has spent more than two decades designing and integrating antennas for leading telecommunications, broadband, and connected-device manufacturers.

For some lower-volume OEMs, traditional custom antenna engineering may not be financially practical. Airgain RF Intelligence aims to make antenna selection more accessible to these developers while complementing Airgain’s established custom-engineering services for complex wireless systems.

Starting with antenna selection and integration guidance, the platform is envisioned to expand into broader AI-assisted RF engineering capabilities over time.

Help Shape What's Next

Airgain is inviting qualified OEMs, wireless device developers, and ecosystem partners to apply for the Airgain RF Intelligence Early Evaluation Program.

Selected participants will help evaluate the platform and provide feedback to guide development. Initial customer access is targeted for the first half of 2027, subject to development and testing.

Airgain RF Intelligence is not yet generally available.
