High Power User Equipment (HPUE) is a specialized class of cellular device with up to 6x the uplink power of standard devices to keep you connected in more places. HPUE is especially helpful in rural, edge-of-network locations where connections may be spotty, or in dense urban environments where building materials block signals.

Airgain HPUE products use our patented IntelliRange™ Technology to create a reliable connection to the macro cellular network. That cellular signal is used by our Airgain MegaFi 2 and MegaGo 2 routers to create a Wi-Fi hot spot, maintaining connectivity where standard routers cannot.

What causes weak signals?

Distance to tower

Uplink power on standard devices is not as strong as the power of the signal coming from the tower, making it difficult to send communication when towers are far away.

Terrain

In remote areas, especially where there are hills, valleys, trees, and other natural features, the landscape itself can interfere with signals.

Man-made structures

Building shadows, garages, and other urban structures often create pockets of dead zones. Having to connect and reconnect can waste valuable time in an emergency.

The area where the house was had low cell signal — however, we had our HPUE vehicle with the wireless router. In the U.S., our HPUE devices support FirstNet^®, Built with AT&T^® on Band 14. Users who are eligible for a FirstNet SIM card are guaranteed an always-on, reliable connection when commercial networks are congested.

The certified FirstNet Trusted™ MegaFi 2 is exclusively available for purchase in the U.S. through AT&T sales channels.

Global (outside United States)

Airgain HPUE devices available outside the U.S. support high power connectivity on Bands 3, 20, and 28. The availability of devices with priority and preemption varies from country to country.
