Proprietary switched-beam antenna technology poised for mass market adoption
Carlsbad, Calif., September 7, 2006 — Airgain, Inc., a smart antenna innovator improving the mass market’s wireless connectivity experience through its patented switched beam technology, has relocated to a new and larger facility in Palomar Point Business Park at 1930 Palomar Point Way., Suite 107, Carlsbad, Calif. 92008.
Airgain’s 7,200-square-foot facility provides more space to accommodate the company’s expansion and a larger, state of the art testing chamber for evaluating and measuring the performance improvements achieved by Airgain’s suite of smart antenna products.
Airgain has innovated a high-performance, smart antenna technology that knows where and when to switch the beam, focusing network connectivity for maximum signal strength and optimal performance. Airgain’s patented technology powers its innovative, miniature smart antenna product and triples its signal strength over conventional Wi-Fi antennas. This substantially improves the consumer’s WLAN experience without increasing the cost to the device manufacturer.
“Manufacturers of next-generation wireless DSL gateway equipment are adopting our switched beam antenna because of its superior performance, modular design, and low cost,” says Pertti Visuri, Airgain President and CEO. “This move supports our next phase of growth, as our switched beam smart antenna technology is adopted as the preferred antenna solution in wireless routers, gateways and client devices for the mass market.”
