Airgain MaxBeam75 smart antenna for residential Wi-fi selected from 23 entrants
Carlsbad, Calif.; December 19, 2006 — At the 19th Annual CONNECT Most Innovative Product awards in La Jolla on Dec. 15, Airgain CEO Pertti Visuri, Ph.D. accepted the award for most innovative communications product as selected by a distinguished panel of judges representing San Diego’s technology and business leaders.
A record 23 nominations were received in this highly competitive category, which Airgain won for its MaxBeam75 smart antenna. The Airgain MaxBeam75 is a compact smart antenna for residential wireless routers, gateways and access points. Multiple beam-forming antenna elements focus radio energy while Airgain’s revolutionary switched-beam technology rapidly steers the beam, resulting in triple the signal strength, double the coverage, better throughput, greater connection availability and reduced interference over conventional dipole antennas. The MaxBeam75 constantly adjusts the beam to its environment, differentiating between client devices, distances, obstacles and interference to optimize the connection for each networked client.
